Total cost of ownership
Count everything you pay for an architecture tool, over the years you will use it, and compare it with Lintel EA using your own figures.
The licence is only part of the cost.
Licence or subscription
The recurring fee, including the number of people who can edit. Check whether viewers, extra environments and custom domains are included or charged.
Running the tool
Administration, hosting, upgrades, support and the time your team spends keeping the repository current.
Getting started
Implementation, data migration, integration and training. These are usually one-off, and are often quoted separately.
Compare your costs over time.
The values shown are an example. Replace them with your own. Rival tools are mostly quoted privately, so you enter what you pay today.
This is an estimate from the figures you enter plus Lintel EA's published starting-from prices, excluding VAT. It is not a quote or a forecast. Costs that do not appear here, such as internal staff time on migration, should be added to the running or implementation boxes.
An illustration, not a prediction.
Take an architecture team of 20 contributors over 3 years. Suppose the current tool costs £45,000 a year, £8,000 a year to run, £20,000 to implement and £5,000 for training. Assume Lintel EA has the same running, implementation and training costs, and a starting-from licence of £22,000 a year.
The current tool then costs £184,000 over 3 years and Lintel EA £115,000, a difference of £69,000. These numbers are assumptions chosen for the example. Your own tool, team size and quote will give a different answer, and the calculator above will show it.
